Think-Film’s socio-political impact campaign amplified President Tsai Ing-wen’s message in arenas she herself can not enter, mobilising policymakers to take urgent steps of allyship with Taiwan while de-escalating cross-Strait tensions.
Messaging strategically focused on advancing Taiwan’s world stage presence by promoting their inclusion in the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP).
- Panels and events at the Bundestag, World Forum on Democracy and Institute for Cultural Diplomacy in the framework of Berlinale Film Festival, as well as a media op-ed by German Marshall Fund Senior Fellow Mareike Ohlberg recognising President Tsai Ing-wen’s pivotal leadership and framing the film as an urgent response to China’s threats, inspired a new legal white paper on how Taiwan could be more clearly represented in international fora and mechanisms.
- A Cannes Marche du Film panel for 130+ attendees elevated the film’s industry visibility, by spotlighting it alongside other leading documentaries on the pressing geo-political situations of our time.
- Strategic advocacy meetings around the film boosted UK political support for Taiwan’s entry into the CPTPP major international trade alliance, with a high-level House of Lords roundtable event in particular generating key topic allyship and stimulating leading peer Lord Alton to formally call on the UK Government – as the newest CPTPP member – to support Taiwan’s membership bid.
Impact generated 115k+ social media, and positioned the film strongly for ongoing distribution and audience engagement.
