JOB DESCRIPTION – FILM & POLICY INTERN
Think-Film Impact Production is a rapidly emerging company doing cutting-edge work at the intersection of film and policy. Our unique work model harnesses the dynamic power of visual storytelling to bring social and political issues to the highest levels of attention and we have run multiple successful impact campaigns at national, regional and international level.
We are seeking a talented and energetic intern who is passionate about social justice and eager to bring research and policy expertise to our creative film projects. Working within a small, close-knit team, you will gain high-level experience in public policy across UK, EU and UN arenas, adding real value to our impact campaigns while helping us grow.
> Policy research and analysis on a wide range of issues
> Stakeholder mapping and communicating professionally
> Monitor and update social media accounts, including posting on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram and reporting on analytics outcomes
> Create and curate engaging blog posts and visual media content that will be shared by influencers
> Coordinate and attend events, including representing Think-Film in high level political arenas
> Administrative and other necessary tasks as they arise
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
> Studying towards / educated to degree level in a relevant subject (e.g. politics, social sciences)
> Possess a keen interest and curiosity in social policy, strong desire to learn with a professional drive
> Experience of undertaking qualitative research and analysis
> Excellent social, written and verbal communication skills
> Creativity and ideas
> Positive attitude working as part of a small team, able to show initiative and work independently
> Detail-oriented, ability to work to deadline and manage multiple, competing priorities
> Commitment to Think-Film values
> Competence in MS Office and/or G-Suite, detailed knowledge and experience of social media
> Able to work evenings and weekends if required
Our internship provides a unique mix of film & policy experiences and a practical grounding in conducting social research and applying it to campaign development and implementation. You will gain experience communicating with high-level stakeholders and working in a team and on your own initiative. You will learn how to create and share compelling content and use narrative to drive forward tangible change.
CONDITIONS OF CONTRACT
Temporary three-month contract, with possibility for extension depending on performance review and company needs.
32 hours per week (Mon-Thurs), standard working hours.
Salary range £600-£1000 per month, depending on experience.
Appointee will be eligible for 20 days annual leave (pro rata), plus UK bank holidays.
The position is based remotely with occasional meetings/events in London.
While we cannot guarantee onward employment, we aim to create a position for the right person, so hope to find someone keen to continue to progress within the company when the internship is completed.
